HTC Desire :: aftermarket 3000mAh battery

I’ve ordered this a few weeks ago for $15 on ebay and delivery from Singapore definitely took its time. Today it has finally arrived and I can tell this battery looks really mean with all the 3000mAh power hidden under the hood — it’s almost twice as thick as the regular one and does require the special back cover to accomodate this thickness (no worries, the new cover was included in the package). Now it’s time to recharge and I wonder how long it might take with the battery of this size.

How is your battery life going now? I’m considering getting something a bit beefier.

I’ve got about 1.5-1.7 battery life improvement, and the phone got really bulky, I would not even thing about getting anything bigger, now just dropping it on my feet might require a visit to a doctor =)

So, how long did it last? Was it worth it?

I’ve had about 3-4 days with the original battery and now it’s up to almost a week. I have recharged last Monday and right now (Saturday morning) I still have 28% battery left. Also, the discharge curve is a bit different, the original battery stays quite long at about full amount, then the discharge accelerates — I could not leave home with original battery at 20%, because it might suddenly die during a phone call or something. This new battery drops quickly to 80% (in a day, maybe) but then discharge decelerates. 20% with the new battery means I can use it maybe for a 2 more days.
